City of Houston, Texas Parks and Recreation Master Plan
In 2001, VHA completed a new citywide master plan to guide the future growth, development and redevelopment of the entire park and recreation system within Houston. The plan responds to the priorities of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission and meets the local master plan requirements of the Texas Recreation and Parks Account Program (TRPA).
Pearland Comprehensive Plan
VHA updated the city’s Comprehensive Plan with assistance from CDS Research and Walsh Engineering, Inc. to succeed previous plans prepared in 1978 and 1988. The proposed plan provided a guide for growth, economic development and land use for a 20-year period.
Southside Place Comprehensive Plan
VHA completed a new comprehensive planning document in 2002 for Southside Place, an incorporated city located in central Houston inside Loop 610. The Comprehensive Plan intended to guide public and private development and redevelopment within the community, and assist in formulating future municipal capital improvement programs. VHA services were retained to prepare and combine all existing and proposed regulations into single land use and a development handbook.
Revitalization of 300 block area between the Central Business District and the Medical Center and Hermann Park area. The revitalization effort has raised property values and is creating a dynamic, mixed-use area with greater densities and more urban character than any other area in the region.
River Oaks Plaza
Our firm provided complete planning services for 16-acre site located at West Gray and Waugh Drive and 225,000 square foot retail center developed by Levcor, Inc.
Town & Country Village
Upscale redevelopment of 28-acre shopping center in West Houston at Beltway 8 and Memorial Drive. VHA provided both site planning and landscape architecture services with required approval from the Texas Department of Transportation for landscape planting and maintenance within State Highway right-of-way on Beltway 8.
Provided master planning services, promotional renderings and plat submittals for this 150-acre master-planned technology and business park located on Beltway 8 at Clay Road.
